Welcoming Hall of Fame Coach Terry West to Westbrook Horse Farm

Coaching to WIN!

We are thrilled to announce that Hall of Fame Terry West, of Black Cherry Equestrian, is joining the Westbrook Horse Farm's equestrian program! With over 30 years of elite experience in the hunter/jumper and equitation world, Terry brings a high standard of coaching that will elevate any competitive rider through weekly lessons at Westbrook Farm, and at weekend horse shows throughout the year.

As a USHJA Certified Trainer, USEF licensed official, and Maryland Horse Show Association Hall of Fame inductee, Terry was one of the first Black female jockeys! She has been coaching winning students at numerous horse shows throughout the region for decades. Her commitment to developing riders is unparalleled, demonstrated by her success with students at every level. As testament to her legendary status as a horsewoman, in 2023 she was appointed as Commissioner to the MD State Racing Commission by Governor Wes Moore.

Weekly Training

Starting Friday, July 17th, Terry will be available for lessons primarily on Fridays between 9am-2pm. Her positive, confidence-building style is perfect for riders looking to elevate their technique and competitive edge.
