Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders
The Brian Westbrook Foundation opens doors for youth through horsemanship, STEAM education, and leadership development, giving every young person the chance to discover what they're capable of.
Our Story
Founded by NFL veteran Brian Westbrook, the Brian Westbrook Foundation exists to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity, giving young people access to experiences, education, and support that help them discover what they're capable of achieving.
Inspired by Brian's own journey from a young athlete with big dreams to a successful NFL career and beyond, the Foundation is built around three essential pillars: Leadership, Financial Literacy, and Mental Health. Together, these pillars provide the foundation for helping young people develop the confidence to lead, the knowledge to make informed financial decisions, and the emotional resilience to navigate life's challenges.
Through equestrian experiences, education, agricultural learning, technology, and hands-on programming, we bring these pillars to life in meaningful and engaging ways. Our programs create opportunities for young people to explore new interests, develop practical skills, build relationships, and discover strengths they may not have known they possessed.
Whether a child is interacting with a horse for the first time, learning how to manage money, growing food, exploring technology, or discovering the importance of teamwork and emotional well-being, every experience is designed to teach lessons that extend far beyond the classroom or the farm.
Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To provide youth with transformative educational, equestrian, and leadership experiences that build confidence, character, and pathways to success.
Our Vision
A world where every young person, regardless of zip code or background, has access to the experiences, mentors, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Why It Matters
Opportunity gaps start early and compound over time. We intervene at the critical juncture where access, inspiration, and mentorship can redirect a young person's trajectory for life.
Brian Westbrook
Brian Westbrook is a two-time Pro Bowl running back who spent nine seasons in the NFL, most notably with the Philadelphia Eagles. Known for his intelligence, versatility, and leadership on the field, Brian was one of the most complete players of his generation.
After retiring from professional football, Brian turned his focus to the next generation. Drawing on his own experiences navigating a path from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland in Washington, D.C. to Villanova University and the NFL, he founded the Brian Westbrook Foundation to ensure that more young people have access to the support and opportunities that shaped his journey.
Brian is deeply involved in the Foundation's programs and remains committed to showing up, not just as a name on a letterhead, but as a mentor, advocate, and presence in the lives of the youth the Foundation serves.
“Success isn't just about talent. It's about access, support, and someone believing in you.”
